Privacy Policy for Migraine Tracker

This Privacy Policy explains how Migraine Tracker, developed by Furkan Kaya (“we,” “us,” or “the app”), handles information when you use the app. Migraine Tracker is designed as a local-first health diary. We do not require an account and we do not sell personal or health information.

1. Information you enter

The app may store migraine and headache entries, pain intensity and location, symptoms, possible triggers, medications and doses, notes, assessment answers and scores, reminder preferences, and app appearance preferences. This information is stored locally on your device in the app database.

2. Optional device and health information

  • Apple Health: If you grant access, the app may read sleep analysis and menstrual flow data and may write completed headache entries. Apple Health access is optional and controlled through iOS Settings. Health data is used only to provide the features you enable and is not used for advertising.

  • Approximate location: If granted, coarse location is used to request local weather, atmospheric pressure, temperature, and humidity from a weather provider. The app rounds coordinates before local storage and does not use location for tracking or advertising.

  • Notifications: If granted, iOS delivers reminders you configure, including daily check-ins, medication reminders, assessment follow-ups, and qualifying pressure warnings.

3. Storage, backups, and exports

Tracked information is stored on your device. The app may create rotating local database backups in its Documents directory. Depending on your Apple device and iCloud settings, iOS may include app documents in a device backup. When you create a PDF, CSV, JSON, or database export, the file leaves the app only when you choose to save or share it. The destination you select has its own privacy practices.

4. Weather and third-party services

To provide weather features, the app may send rounded latitude and longitude coordinates to Open-Meteo or another configured weather provider. Apple processes HealthKit, notification, subscription, and App Store transaction information under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy. A future subscription SDK such as Adapty may process an anonymous app-user identifier, product information, purchase status, and subscription events; it will not receive your migraine diary or Apple Health records.

5. Purchases and subscriptions

Purchases are processed by Apple. We do not receive your complete payment-card details. We may receive subscription status, product identifier, transaction state, renewal status, and purchase timestamps needed to unlock paid features and provide support.

6. Analytics and diagnostics

The current app is designed to operate without an account. If privacy-preserving product analytics or crash diagnostics are enabled in a future version, this policy will be updated before such collection begins. Health diary contents will not be used for advertising or sold.

7. Retention and deletion

Local information remains on your device until you delete entries, use the in-app “Delete all data” control, or remove the app. Removing the app may not remove copies already included in device backups or exports you created. You can revoke Apple Health, location, and notification permissions in iOS Settings.

8. Children

Migraine Tracker is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. A parent or guardian should supervise use by a minor where required by local law.

9. Security and international use

We use platform security features and minimize transmitted data, but no device or electronic transmission is completely secure. Weather requests may be processed in countries other than your own according to the provider’s infrastructure.

10. Your choices and rights

You can review and edit diary entries, export supported data, disable optional permissions, disconnect app-side Apple Health synchronization, and delete tracked data. Depending on where you live, additional privacy rights may apply.

11. Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. The effective date above will be revised, and material changes will be communicated through the app or its store listing where appropriate.
