Reciple Privacy Policy

Reciple — Privacy Policy

Effective 8 August 2026

How Reciple handles the links you share, the recipes you save, and the preferences you set.

1. Who we are

Reciple ("the app") is developed and operated by Kaya Apps ("we", "us"). Kaya Apps is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at any time at support@furkankaya.com.tr.

This policy explains what the app collects, what leaves your device, who processes it, and how long it is kept. It applies to the Reciple iOS app and to the servers that support it. It does not apply to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, or any other website whose content you choose to import — those services have their own policies.

2. The short version

Account requiredNo. Reciple works without signing up, and we never ask for your name, email address, or phone number.
Where recipes liveOn your device. Your saved recipe library is stored locally and works offline.
What leaves your deviceOnly the link or text you explicitly submit for import, so that it can be turned into a recipe.
Who processes itOur own processing service, which passes the content to OpenAI and Google acting strictly as our processors.
Model trainingNo. Your content is contractually excluded from training any AI model.
Retention on our serversDeleted automatically within 30 days of the import.
Selling dataNever. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we run no advertising network.
TrackingReciple does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

3. What the app collects

a) Content you submit for import.

  • The URL of a video, post, or web page you share to Reciple.
  • Text you paste in, and photos of recipes you choose to import from your photo library or camera.
  • Recipes you type in yourself, including titles, ingredients, steps, and any notes you add.

b) Preferences you set. During onboarding, and later in settings, you can tell the app about your dietary preferences, allergies or ingredients to avoid, household size, and nutrition goals. This information is used to tailor recipes and nutrition estimates. Where it describes allergies or health goals it may qualify as health data under GDPR Article 9, so we keep it on your device and process it only on the legal basis of your explicit consent, which you give by entering it and can withdraw by clearing it.

c) Purchase status. If you buy Reciple Pro, our subscription provider tells the app whether your subscription is active, when it renews, and which plan you are on. Payment itself is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card number, billing address, or Apple ID password.

d) Diagnostics. If the app crashes or an import fails, we may receive a technical report containing the device model, iOS version, app version, and the error itself. These reports are used only to fix defects.

We do not collect any of the following:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, or postal address.
  • Your contacts, calendar, messages, or health records from Apple Health.
  • Your precise location.
  • Your photo library as a whole — only the specific images you pick for an import.
  • Any identifier used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

4. How AI processing works

This section answers the question we are asked most often, including by Apple's review team: what happens to the things you send in.

When you share a link, paste text, or pick a photo to import, that item is sent over an encrypted connection to a processing service operated by us. That service extracts the recipe — the ingredients, the steps, the servings — and estimates the nutrition. To do this it passes the content to third-party AI model providers, currently OpenAI and Google. Those providers act only as our processors: they run the content through their models on our instruction and return a result. They are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

  • Your content is not used to train any AI model. This is a contractual commitment from our model providers, and we have opted out of training on every account we use.
  • Submitted content is retained on our servers only as long as needed to complete the import and to recover from failures, and is deleted automatically within 30 days.
  • No human reads your imports as a matter of routine. Content is only ever looked at by a person if it is necessary to investigate a specific fault you have reported to us, or a suspected abuse of the service.
  • The finished recipe is written to your device. You can delete it at any time, and deleting it in the app removes it from the app.
  • Photos you import are processed for the sole purpose of reading the recipe out of them. They are not used to identify people and are not kept beyond the retention window above.

Nutrition figures produced this way are estimates generated by a model, not laboratory measurements. Section 6 of the Terms of Use explains the limits you should keep in mind, particularly if you have an allergy or a medical condition.

5. Why we process it, and on what legal basis

Turning your imports into recipesPerformance of our contract with you (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
Tailoring recipes to your dietary preferencesYour consent, given when you enter them (Art. 6(1)(a), and Art. 9(2)(a) where the information concerns health).
Managing your subscription and restoring purchasesPerformance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b)).
Fixing crashes and preventing abuse of the serviceOur legitimate interest in a working, non-abused product (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Meeting tax, accounting, and legal obligationsCompliance with a legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data, we do not rent it, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising. We share it only with the service providers we need in order to run the app, each of which is bound by a data processing agreement:

AI model providersOpenAI and Google — to extract recipes and estimate nutrition from the content you submit.
AppleHandles all payments, subscription billing, and refunds. Apple's own privacy policy governs that relationship.
AdaptyTells the app whether your subscription is active. Receives a random installation identifier and your purchase status, not your identity.
Hosting and infrastructure providersOperate the servers that run our processing service.

We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, for example in response to a valid court order, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim. If we are ever involved in a merger or acquisition, personal data may transfer with the business, and we will say so in the app before it happens.

7. International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where data leaves the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the transfer is covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, or by an adequacy decision where one applies. You can ask us for a copy of the relevant safeguards at support@furkankaya.com.tr.

8. How long we keep it

Your recipe library and preferencesOn your device, until you delete them or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes them.
Content submitted for importOn our servers, deleted automatically within 30 days.
Subscription statusFor as long as the subscription is active, and afterwards for the period required by tax and accounting law.
Crash and error reportsUp to 12 months, after which they are deleted.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights: to know what we hold about you, to get a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, to withdraw a consent you gave, and to receive your data in a portable form. Users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom have these rights under the GDPR; users in Türkiye have equivalent rights under the KVKK; users in California have the rights described in the CCPA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.

Because Reciple has no accounts, most of your data never reaches us and is under your direct control: deleting a recipe deletes it, and uninstalling the app removes your library and preferences from the device. For anything held on our servers, write to support@furkankaya.com.tr and we will respond within 30 days. You may need to tell us roughly when you performed an import so that we can locate the relevant records.

If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you can complain to your local supervisory authority. In Türkiye that is the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK); in the EEA it is the data protection authority of the country you live in.

10. Children

Reciple is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at support@furkankaya.com.tr and we will delete it.

11. Security

Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using TLS. Access to our processing infrastructure is restricted to the people who operate it and protected by key-based authentication. Your recipe library is held in the app's own storage area, which iOS isolates from other apps and protects with the device encryption on your iPhone.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affects your personal data and is likely to put your rights at risk, we will notify the competent supervisory authority within 72 hours and inform affected users without undue delay.

12. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when the app changes. The effective date at the top always tells you which version you are reading. If a change materially affects how we handle your data — a new category of processor, a new purpose, a longer retention period — we will tell you in the app before it takes effect, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent again.

13. Contact

Questions, requests, or complaints: support@furkankaya.com.tr. We read every message and reply within 30 days.
